Rim Protector Installation Guide

Part 1: Pre-Installation Preparation

Initial Disassembly

Remove the original wheel cap and the center emblem (if present).

Base Lock Installation

Step 1: Screw the bolt into the nut a few turns until it is flush with the nut's interior.
Step 2: Align the nut's four clips horizontally with the wheel's center hole and tap the bolt to snap the clips into place.
Step 3: Screw the bolt all the way in and perform an initial check by gripping the center lock and pulling outward to confirm the base is secured.

Rim Protection Film Application

Step 1: Wipe the edge of the wheel clean with a towel.
Step 2: Prepare the film strip (cut length and peel backing) and stick the first strip onto the outermost edge of the wheel.
Step 3: Press the film firmly to expel air.
Step 4: Apply the remaining three strips, leaving a small gap between them, until the entire circumference is covered.

Part 2: Wheel Cover Main Body Installation and Securing

Cover Mounting

Step 1: Snap the locator into the back of the wheel cover.
Step 2: Align the locator's clips with the "I" shaped opening on the secured nut.
Step 3: Press the wheel cover onto the wheel until it is fully flush.

Final Tightening

Step 1: Tighten the main bolt by hand, then continue using the hex wrench.
Step 2: Hold the wheel cover down with your hand while tightening to prevent the wrench from slipping.
Step 3: Stop tightening when the bolt can no longer turn.

Part 3: Final Inspection and Maintenance

Step 1: Shake the installed wheel cover left and right.
Step 2: Pull the wheel cover outward to confirm it is completely immobilized and secure.
Step 3: Periodically re-tighten the bolt as needed based on vehicle usage.

 

Finding Your Wheel Rim Size

To choose the correct rim protector size, you only need to look at the numbers printed on your tire's sidewall.

1. Locate Your Tire Size Code

 

Find the sequence of numbers and letters on the side of your tire. This code contains all the necessary measurements.

Example Code:  245/45R19

 

2. Identify the Rim Diameter

 

The number you need is the one that directly follows the letter "R". This number represents your wheel rim's diameter in Inches.

This number is the size you must select for your rim protector.

The rim protector cannot be installed correctly on wheels that have certain design features. Please examine the edge of your wheel rim closely.

  • 1. Raised Edge (Not Suitable)

    • If the edge of your wheel rim is raised or has a lip, the protector will not sit flush or securely.

    • Why? The design prevents the protector from making proper contact with the rim's surface.

  • 2. Edge is Too Narrow (Not Suitable)

    • If the edge of your wheel rim is too narrow or very thin, there will not be enough surface area for the protector to securely adhere.

    • Why? A narrow edge will not provide the necessary stable base for the protector to lock onto the rim, compromising its protection and fit.

I recommend this British Made wheel protector for your vehicle. The product is made well, it's tough, durable and can take a beating when installing them on your wheels. Follow the directions and watch a install video on YouTube to get familiar on how to properly install. Use the correct tools- plastic hammer, use plenty of soapy water for lubrication when hammering it on to your wheel. Ensure the tire is completely deflated if you choose to do it while on jacks with wheel/tire installed on the vehicle.

Everything went pretty good i only having trouble with one protector weird seems the double m tap didnt stick but when looking closer that spot didnt get the intire part of the protector and the tape which i dont understand because the protector all should be cut to a 21” but either way I’ll figure it out you guys did send me more double m tape so I appreciate that my only concern is taking it off and reinstalling i dont want to bend or mis shap protector so i guess ill know after i try to repair other was its perfect its the look was going for
