• For optimal installation, it's crucial to avoid excessive contact resistance to prevent voltage drops and operational issues with Starlink. We advise using single Cat6 or superior Ethernet cables without couplers or extenders, ensuring a length not exceeding 175ft when paired with the genuine Gen 2 router. If using homemade crimp Ethernet cables, ensure secure connections between high-quality RJ45 ends and the cable. Properly install waterproof sockets without twisting or tearing cable ends for a seamless setup.
• For scenarios involving third-party PoE injectors and Ethernet cable couplers/extenders, prioritize reliability by opting for Cat6A or superior cables with 23AWG or higher and high-quality RJ45 ends. This ensures a stable connection, mitigating issues arising from the unstable output power of third-party PoE injectors and excessive contact resistance. Additionally, maintain a regular Ethernet cable length of no more than 75ft between the dish and your PoE device for optimal performance.
